NOURNEWS- Iranian Foreign Minister, Hossein Amir-Abdollahian announced that Iran and Saudi Arabia agreed to repeat soccer match between Sepahan and Al-Ittihad in a proper time.
Reacting to the cancellation of the soccer match between Iran's Sepahan and Saudi Arabia's Al-Ittihad, Amir-Abdollahian told reporters on the sidelines of the Cabinet session, “I was in contact with Saudi Foreign Minister at the time that the match was canceled”.
“The relations between Tehran and Riyadh are moving in the right direction. We shouldn’t allow sports to be used as a political leverage by anyone,” he added.
Amir-Abdollahian also called on the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) to act on a technical basis.
The Saudi Pro League champions Al-Ittihad on Monday refused to play Sepahan, and the match was cancelled.
