NOURNEWS- While congratulating the birthday of the Prophet of Islam (PBUH) and the birthday of Imam Jafar Sadiq (PBUH), the spokesman of Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Nasser Kanaani, in his weekly press conference with reporters this morning, said: We hope to witness Islamic unity among Muslim countries so that all of them will be freed from the evils of sedition and may all the Muslim countries will be free from the dominating system of the world and the enemies of Islam, may all the Muslims be safe and have their own influential position with greater unity.
Regarding the sanction’s relief negotiations, he said: “We have repeatedly stated that we are committed to the negotiation process for responsible return of all parties to the JCPOA, and we consider the negotiation process to be an appropriate process for this matter, and indirect talks with US representatives have also been conducted, and friendly countries have introduced initiatives to bring the views of the parties closer.”
The Foreign Ministry spokesman reiterated, “Our agreement is the same as the 2015 JCPOA, in which Iran fulfilled its commitments, and Europe and the United States unfortunately ignored their responsibilities in the context of this agreement and the US withdrew from it unilaterally.”
Kanaani said Oman's initiative is not a new agreement, and this initiative is a series of measures to bring the parties closer to their vision and return the parties to fulfillment their commitments, and Iran welcomes and supports the goodwill efforts of friendly countries to return all parties to the JCPOA.
He added: “If the other side has the will and needed determination to return to the JCPOA responsibly, Iran is ready to help and move in this direction, and we are committed to the diplomacy process for the agreement, but at the same time we will not tie our diplomatic efforts to the JCPOA and the nuclear agreement, and we will follow the path of sanctions relief.”
