A traffic of security dialogues in Tehran

Today's two important security meetings in Tehran and the topics discussed in them, on the one hand, shows the importance of two strategic areas of Iraq, especially the northern region of this country, as well as the Caucasus area in the national security doctrine of the Islamic Republic of Iran, and on the other hand, these high volume of security consultations indicates the effective role of Iran in strengthening the security of the region as a whole.

NOURNEWS- Today, Tehran was the destination of an important trip of two regional security officials, who discussed and exchanged their views on international and regional issues in a meeting with the Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council of Iran.

This Sunday’s morning, 1 October 2023, Qasim al-Araji, Iraq's national security adviser, met with Ali Akbar Ahmadian, the representative of the Supreme Leader and the secretary of the Supreme National Security Council of Iran, and discussed and exchanged his opinions with Dr. Ahmadian about bilateral issues and the way to fully implement the security agreement between the two countries.

On the other hand; Today, Tehran hosted the Secretary of the Security Council of Armenia, accordingly, the top security officials of the two countries discussed essential developments in the Caucasus region in their today’s meeting.

Armen Grigoryan, the secretary of the Security Council of Armenia, who arrived in Tehran around noon today, met with Dr. Ali Akbar Ahmadian in the afternoon and discussed with him, and they talked about bilateral affairs, developments in the Caucasus region, and important international issues.

On the one hand, Today's two significant security meetings in Tehran and the topics discussed in them, on the one hand, shows the importance of two strategic areas of Iraq, especially the northern region of this country, as well as the Caucasus area in the national security doctrine of the Islamic Republic of Iran, and on the other hand, these high volume of security consultations shows the effective role of Iran in strengthening the security of the region.

Regarding the security problems and challenges originated in the northern region of Iraq in recent years, which targeted the national security of Iran with the focus of terrorist and separatist groups and Erbil's failure to deal seriously with this issue, last March and during the visit of Admiral Shamkhani, the then secretary of the Supreme National security Council to Baghdad, Tehran-Baghdad security agreement was signed by the parties.

According to this agreement, a deadline of six months until the end of September of this year was set for the federal government of Iraq to take the necessary measures regarding the disarmament of the terrorist movements located in the region and their transfer to the depth of Iraqi soil.

Now, with consideration towards the end of this deadline and fulfilling a large part of the obligations of the Iraqi side, which, ironically, in addition to securing Iran's borders, will also greatly help the security sector inside Iraq, Al-Araji's trip can be evaluated as an important event in this regard and to review the progress made so far for achieving and fully implementing Tehran-Baghdad security agreement.

On the other hand; The occurrence of continuous tensions and continuous crises in the Caucasus region, which is caused by the instigation of extra-regional actors, has led the countries of the region to the conclusion that Iran's effective role can definitely help to resolve the tension and achieve stability and security in this region.

Tehran has always emphasized on relieving and easing tension and stabilizing peace and security in the region through diplomatic channels and without any interference from foreign actors, and the history of the Islamic Republic's behavior also shows that it has used all of its capabilities in this regard and in various cases.

In accordance to the abovementioned facts; Grigoryan’s trip to Tehran and his meeting with high security officials of Iran should be evaluated from this point of view.

It seems; Although the Western-Zionist axis has used all of its efforts in recent months to isolate and remove Iran from the regional and international equations, the geopolitical, political and security realities governing the developments, indicate the necessity of Tehran's role in the aforementioned cases.
