Iran’s foreign trade hits $54.6 billion in 6 months

The president of the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA) put the country’s foreign trade value in the first six months of the current Iranian calendar year (March 21 to September 22) at about $54.6 billion.

NOURNEWS- The president of the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA) put the country’s foreign trade value in the first six months of the current Iranian calendar year (March 21 to September 22) at about $54.6 billion.

It registered a 4.84 percent growth compared to the same period last year, Mohammad Rezvanifar stated.

According to him, 68 million tons of non-oil goods, valued at $24.1 billion, were exported overseas from March 21 to September 22, 2023, showing a 29 percent increase in weight and 2.6 percent decline in value compared to last year’s corresponding period.

The IRICA chief went on to say that 17.6 million tons of goods, valued at $30.4 billion, were imported into the country in the first half of the current Iranian calendar year, showing 11.6 and 8.6 percent hikes in value and weight respectively compared to the same period last year.

Iran’s total foreign trade (foreign trade with oil excluded) in this timespan hit $54.6 billion, weighing about 85.3 million tons, showing a 5 and 25 percent growth in value and weight respectively compared to the same period of last year, Rezvanifar added.

He further noted that China, Iraq, and the United Arab Emirates were Iran’s main export target markets in this period.
