NOURNEWS- The killing of a Sikh separatist activist inside Canada and the accusations that the Indian government was involved in the incident have rekindled diplomatic tensions between the two countries.
Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has claimed that the country's intelligence agency has received “credible evidence” that shows that India was involved in the murder of 45-year-old Hardeep Singh Nijjar.
Canada’s PM has said; Canada is not trying to “provoke” India or “escalate” tensions, but it is “simply stating the facts.”
On the other hand, India has strongly denied any involvement in the killing of the prominent Sikh leader in Canada, calling it “absurd and biased”.
The suspension of the trade talks between New Delhi and Ottawa and the intensification of the propaganda and political tensions of the said parties against each other are among the consequences of the recent incident.
In general, Canada and India have not had positive relations with each other in recent years, and Ottawa's support for the separatist Sikhs and their movement has led to India’s anger towards the former and current governments of Canada.
With over 770,000 members, the Sikh community in Canada is one of the largest communities of this movement outside of India.
Nijjar was one of the outspoken supporters of the creation of a separate land for Sikhs called “Khalistan”, which included parts of the Indian state of Punjab.
Khalistan movement is illegal in India and the government of this country considers it a threat to its national security.
Several groups associated with this movement have been classified as “terrorist organizations” and Nijjar’s name was also added to the list of people associated with terrorist acts in India since 2020.
Now, Trudeau has accused the Indian government of assassinating Nijjar on Canadian soil. Regardless of whether this claim is true or false, it is better for the Prime Minister of Canada to answer a more important question before continuing this dispute; What is his country's for insisting on supporting extremist, separatist, and opposition groups of other countries and governments?
Canada has defined one of its main tasks as supporting controversial and terrorist groups, and on the other hand, it expects to be immune from the consequences of its objective confrontation with many countries and governments in the world.
Certainly, Trudeau cannot avoid answering this critical question and concern with a propaganda maneuver on the murder of Nijjar!
The fact is that turning Canada into a paradise for embezzlers, financial corruptors, separatists, hostile political groups of various countries, etc., naturally generates a series of security risks for this country.
In this equation, the likes of Trudeau hide and censor the introduction and main culprit, which is the behavior and actions of the Canadian government, and they only focus on the results and output of their actions.
Of course, murder, and terror have always been condemned everywhere in the world, but the Canadian government cannot at least show itself as a demanding and oppressed actor in these cases, because of the role it has assigned to itself in supporting extremist groups, and it must take on fundamental revisions in its approach and behavior in supporting problematic people.
