NOURNEWS- Iranian Foreign Minister, Hossein Amir-Abdollahian and his Tanzanian counterpart Yusuf Makamba discussed bilateral relations and issues of mutual interest in a telephone conversation.
During the phone conversation, Amir-Abdollahian congratulated the Tanzanian government and Muslim people on the birth anniversary of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).
Congratulating the appointment of the Foreign Minister of Tanzania to his post, Amir-Abdollahian referred to the long-standing relations between Iran and Tanzania, as well as the existence of diverse potential in both countries and expressed Iran's readiness to strengthen bilateral relations, especially in the economic and science and technology fields.
Yusuf Makamba, for his part, thanked the Iranian top diplomat for expressing his readiness to develop relations between the two countries.
He also announced that the President of Tanzania has invited Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi to visit Dar es Salaam.
During the phone talks, the two sides referred to the recent meeting of the presidents of the two countries on the sidelines of the BRICS summit in South Africa, and agreed to hold a joint commission between the two countries in the near future.
