NOURNEWS- Septimius Awards in the Netherlands has awarded the Best Asian Film award to Iranian feature film “World War III” directed by Houman Seyedi.
Homayoun Seyedi, who was present at the ceremony, received the award for the Best Asian Film for “World War III”.
The Septimius Awards is a prestigious award ceremony, with a strong emphasis on discovering and encouraging new independent talent, supporting visionary films and bringing together all elements of film-making and storytelling, which includes fiction, non-fiction, animation, television series and scripts. It showcases a wide range of genres, from Drama to Documentary.
The Septimius Awards is looking for strong story based submissions and have keen interest in supporting upcoming and independent filmmakers. The primary objective of the Septimius Awards is to promote and encourage awareness, appreciation and understanding of the film in all genres. Its mandate is to present the most outstanding films produced in every part of the world. Films and projects are selected on the basis of quality and originality. It selects films, from Asia, Africa, Oceania, Europe and America.
“World War III” was nominated for Best Film, Best Actress (Neda Jebraeili), and Best Actor (Mohsen Tanabandeh) in Best Asian Film category.
The Iranian film has so far achieved several international awards, including Best Actor and Best Director at the Asian World Film Festival 2022, Best Film at the Middle East Now 2022 and Best Film award at the Stockholm Film Festival 2022.
Mohsen Tanabandeh, Mahsa Hejazi, Neda Jebraeili are among the cast members of the film. Also, Navid Nosrati is another actor of the film who attended the festival and received the awards.
After being cast in a movie, a day laborer has to secretly shelter his lover on the set or else risk losing her and all that movie stardom has promised him, according to the plot summary of "World War III".
