NOURNEWS- Iran’s Minister of Economic Affairs and Finance, Ehsan Khandouzi, met with his Egyptian counterpart Mohamed Maait in Cairo.
Khandouzi arrived in Cairo on Sunday at the head of a delegation to attend the 8th annual meeting of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB).
During the meeting with Egyptian Minister of Finance, Khandouzi expressed Iran’s readiness to expand bilateral cooperation with Egypt in banking field as well as transfer pharmaceutical technology and medical equipment to the African country.
They also discussed the recent developments in bilateral relations, especially in economic ties.
Also, cooperation in the field of customs and tariffs and support of banks to businessmen and investors were among the topics that were agreed upon by the ministers of the two countries.
Mohamed Maait, for his part, said, “Egypt considers expanding and developing relations with the Islamic Republic of Iran important, and we hope to witness the improvement of relations between the two countries soon”.
