NOURNEWS- Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi has stressed the need to activate intergovernmental committees between Tehran and Kuala Lumpur and work on arriving at a long-term comprehensive cooperation program between the two countries.
President Raisi made the remarks in a meeting in New York on Wednesday afternoon local time with Prime Minister of Malaysia Anwar Ibrahim.
Such a comprehensive program will prepare the ground for further cooperation between Iran and Malaysia in all areas, Raisi noted.
For his part, the Malaysian premier said his country is eager to enhance relations with Iran.
He appreciated Iran’s achievements in the areas of military, technology, science and medicine.
As he underlined, no foreign interference should hinder cooperation between two Muslim countries of Malaysia and Iran.
Iranian president at the head of a delegation arrived in New York on Monday to attend and address the 78th session of the United Nations General Assembly on September 18 to 26. The president left New York for Tehran on Wednesday to end his three-day stay there.
