NOURNEWS- Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian and the EU foreign policy chief Josep Borrell stressed the need for full compliance with the obligations under the 2015 nuclear deal known as the JCPOA.
The two party met in New York on the sidelines of the United Nation General Assembly meeting on Wednesday.
During the meeting, both sides discussed the latest developments in bilateral ties and regional and international developments.
Also, by reviewing the latest developments and achievements in the sanctions' removal talks between Iran and world powers, proposed new steps and actions were discussed.
The European side expressed satisfaction with the prisoners' exchange between the US and the Islamic Republic of Iran.
The European side was also informed on the talks between Iran and the three European participants of the 2015 nuclear deal.
The two sides called for pursuing the negotiations and adhering to the commitments by all parties to the JCPOA.
The European Union, as coordinator of the nuclear talks, voiced its readiness to pursue the necessary dialogue and expressed interest in taking steps based on an agreed framework and paving the way for further mutual understanding.
