NOURNEWS- General “Sergei Shoigu”, Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation, who has traveled to Tehran at the official invitation of the Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces; has met with Dr. Ali Akbar Ahmadian, the representative of the Supreme Leader and the Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council of the Islamic Republic of Iran this morning. Two high officials have discussed ways to expand cooperation between the two countries and deal with common threats.
In this meeting, a wide range of topics of interest to the two countries in bilateral, regional, international dimensions, and especially the developments in the Caucasus region, were discussed.
During this meeting, the parties emphasized the development of all-round relations between Tehran and Moscow and the decisive fight against organized terrorism, considered the interference of foreign countries in the region as the main reason for instability and security challenges of the region, furthermore, Dr. Ahmadian and Mr. Shoigu considered the expansion of regional cooperation and regional convergence for achieving collective security as one of the effective ways to end foreign interference in the region.
