NOURNEWS- Iran's Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian has held talks with Pakistan’s special representative on Afghanistan Asif Ali Khan Durrani on regional developments.
The meeting took place in Tehran on Tuesday, where the two officials discussed the situation in Afghanistan, a country that shares borders with both Iran and Pakistan.
Amirabdollahian emphasized the effective role that Iran and Pakistan play in the region and expressed hope that ongoing bilateral negotiations would contribute to peace and stability in both the region and Afghanistan.
He also underscored the importance of supporting initiatives within the framework of neighborliness to assist Afghanistan in addressing its challenges.
The Pakistani envoy evaluated regional developments and expressed his country’s determination to cooperate with the Islamic Republic of Iran to establish peace in Afghanistan.
Durrani arrived in Tehran on Monday, marking his first official visit since his appointment four months ago.
