In this meeting, the chief-editor of "NourNews" sincerely asked the Prime Minister of Iraq: The security agreement between Iran and Iraq, which was signed by the parties in Baghdad at the end of last March in the presence of Admiral Shamkhani, the then secretary of the Supreme National Security Council of Iran, has set a 6-month deadline, which is 19 September, i.e. It will be over in less than two weeks, and according to this agreement, the government of Iraq has been obliged to fulfill its obligations, however, the Kurdish anti-revolutionary groups have not been disarmed and expelled yet. While considering this issue and the fact that naturally Iran will take the necessary measures to ensure its security if the Iraqi side does not fulfill its obligations, what is the explanation of his Highness in this regard? Have you made any arrangements to fulfill these obligations? If so, at what stage are those arrangements?

In response to this question, Mohammad Shia Al-Sudani said: Before signing the aforementioned agreement with Iran, we had formed a committee consisting of representatives of the central government and representatives of the federal government of the Kurdistan Region regarding the solution to the security problems that the armed counter-revolution had for the security of the Islamic Republic of Iran, which after reaching this agreement, this committee also continued its activity with more seriousness.

The Prime Minister of Iraq emphasized: For many reasons, as the government of Iraq, We consider ourselves obliged to resolve Tehran's security concerns regarding the terrorist movements based in the Kurdistan Region, and for this purpose, we have spent more than two hundred million dollars on this issue and deployed more than three thousand Iraqi national army troops across the borders of Iran and the Kurdistan region.

Al-Sudani added: Of course, this issue has many complications, and for this reason, although we have succeeded in disarming the anti-revolutionary Kurdish movements and groups, the transfer of all of them to other places has not been completed yet. But Iraq’s government is determined to fulfil its obligations regarding the Tehran-Baghdad security agreement before this agreement’s deadline.

At the beginning of this meeting, the Prime Minister of Iraq welcomed the delegation of Iranian journalists and praised the historical and strong relations between the two neighboring countries and the religious and social ties that have strengthened the fraternal relations between the two nations of Iraq and Iran, then he pointed out that the historical relations of the countries of the region can be the key to the stability and progress of the two mentioned nation, based on the pioneering and pivotal role of Iraq in the region and the adoption of a policy of convergence of regional views that is aimed at strengthening security and stability, as well as the approach of the Iraqi government to create a constructive economic partnership with the countries of the region and the world.

The Iranian media delegation also appreciated the warm welcome of the Prime Minister, the redoubled efforts of Iraq, the government and the people of this country in hosting millions of Iranian and foreign pilgrims, and they said that media communication and coordination between the two countries regarding various issues that increase interests and gains of the two countries and its people are important.
