Dr. Ahmadian: Cooperation and convergence between Iran and Turkey will lead to security and stability

Turkey’s foreign minister, Hakan Fidan, who traveled to Tehran; met with Ali Akbar Ahmadian, the representative of the supreme leader and the secretary of the Supreme National Security Council of Iran

NOURNEWS- Turkey’s foreign minister, Hakan Fidan, who traveled to Tehran; met with Ali Akbar Ahmadian, the representative of the supreme leader and the secretary of the Supreme National Security Council of Iran this afternoon, and talked with each other about ways to comprehensively expand cooperation between the two countries, especially in the security and economic fields.

In this meeting, Dr. Ahmadian pointed to the long history of cooperation between Iran and Turkey, and mentioned that the relations between the two countries are security-building and stability-building.

The secretary of the Supreme National Security Council of Iran said: The development of friendly relations between the two neighboring countries will provide the stable interests of Iran and Turkey.

While congratulating the victory of Mr. Erdoğan and his party and the appointment of Mr. Fidan as the foreign minister of Turkey, Dr. Ahmadian expressed his hope that Tehran-Ankara relations will be upgraded to the privileged levels desired by the leaders of the two countries.

Furthermore, while referring to the words of the Supreme Leader of Iran in the meeting with the President of Turkey last year, who said that Turkey's security is Iran's security, Dr. Ahmadian clarified and said: Iran and Turkey are on the same ship, and the enemies of the two, have clear understanding over this matter, accordingly they are trying to disrupt the process of bilateral cooperation and hinder the synergy of the vast capacities of the two countries.

While stating that Iran and Turkey have been harmed by terrorists who have been armed and equipped with the support of the West and the Zionist regime, the secretary of the Supreme National Security Council of Iran said: Fortunately, the countries of the region have come to a common understanding that unstable security is not guaranteed, and it is not sustainable, only local mechanisms and regional cooperation will guarantee stable security in the region.

Dr. Ahmadian emphasized on the necessity of strengthening economic cooperation between Tehran and Ankara, especially in the field of energy and transit, and he considered the target of 30 billion dollars for trade exchanges to be an easy goal to accomplish.

While referring to the necessity of cooperation between the two countries in the issue of confronting Islamophobia and insulting the Holy Quran, the secretary of the Supreme National Security Council of Iran stated: Iran and Turkey, as the two large countries in the Islamic world, are obliged to fulfill their religious and historical duty to act against the cowardly attack of international Zionist agents against the beliefs of millions of Muslims in the world.

Dr. Ahmadian also pointed to the developments in the Caucasus region and the opposition of the Islamic Republic of Iran to any geopolitical change in the region, and said that the holding of the 3+3 meeting was an effective measure to resolve misunderstandings and resolve issues between the countries of this region.

In this meeting, the foreign minister of Turkey, Hakan Fidan, congratulated the appointment of Dr. Ahmadian as the Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council of the Islamic Republic of Iran, and furthermore announced his country's interest in the comprehensive expansion of its relations with Iran.

Turkey’s FM expressed hope that a new chapter of bilateral and multilateral cooperation will begin soon.

Hakan Fidan emphasized and said:  In this regard, the two countries must be careful and be alerted of the mischief of the enemies who have targeted the relations between the two countries with their destructive actions, especially with the use of media outlets.

While expressing Turkey’s satisfaction with the agreement between Iran and Saudi Arabia, Turkish Foreign Minister hailed Iran as a massive and responsible country in the region and praised the role of the Islamic Republic of Iran in the fight against terrorism.
