!Behind the curtain of a maritime Iran phobia

America's illegal action in the recent maritime meeting has shown the corrupted political nature of international institutions and its structures and the dire need to change their structure and nature, but ultimately, this matter has revealed the decline of American unilateralism to everyone.

NOURNEWS- The United States of America, together with the Britain, prevented Iran from hosting an event that was supposed to be held on World Maritime Day in October this year.

The Reuters news agency has claimed, while quoting a spokesperson of the International Maritime Organization, and wrote that Iran's offer to host a maritime event in October was rejected.

The noteworthy point is that; This organization, as a main pillar of the United Nations in maritime affairs, has accepted Iran's request to hold this event in 2015, and even in the previous meeting of this organization, it was emphasized on Iran’s plan to host this event.

In the same context, “Abram Paley”, who recently took over the responsibilities of the US special representative for Iran affairs,” Robert Malley”, wrote in a tweet about the cancellation of the International Maritime Council meeting in Tehran: "A country that provocatively attacks, seizes, and harasses foreign commercial ships that are carrying legal goods cannot host the World Maritime Day event."

At the same time as this action, the American sources claimed and said that the US is increasing its fleets and fighters in the Persian Gulf while using the subject of the support for oil tankers in order to prevent what they call Iran's hostile actions against oil tankers and commercial ships with the help of their regional allies as an excuse.

Some media have called these developments an escalation of America's hostile approach to military confrontation, and some have also said that Washington’s goal is to lay the groundwork for America’s withdrawal from the negotiations, and have called for Iran to speed up the finalization of agreements with the US regarding American prisoners.

There are several noteworthy points in regards to these developments:

First; While the US has claimed to build a consensus against Iran in the regional and global sphere, even the Arab allies of the US in West Asia have adopted an interactive approach towards Iran for months, in such a way that Saudi Arabia demanded to buy Iranian drones, and the UAE officially announced its withdrawal from the security treaty with the US, and along with other Arab countries in the region, in addition to bilateral relations, they all demanded cooperation with Iran in regards to the security of the Persian Gulf.

In the global stage, the US has long been unable to form a consensus against Iran, as in the recent maritime meeting, out of 39 votes, 22 were with the US and 17 were against this American anti-Iranian action, which, along with the explicit opposition of other countries in the two recent meetings of the Human Rights Council and the Security Council, shows the inability of the US to form a consensus against Iran.

Second; America's new anti-Iranian action has been paralleled by the failure of policy of imposing sanctions and smart pressure, despite the Americans' naval aggressions and imposing new sanctions with the aim of hindering the sale of Iranian oil, Washington’s goals did not materialize and international organizations reported an increase in the sale of Iranian oil.

Beyond that; Washington is not even able to use the cargo of the seized Iranian oil tanker, as the American newspaper Wall Street Journal wrote while quoting informed officials: Iranian oil is in a Greek oil tanker stationed on the Texas coast, and the US Coast Guard has issued a permit to unload the cargo of this oil tanker named "Suez Rajan" with 800,000 barrels of oil, but the companies that carry out such transfers are reluctant to carry out any work related to this oil, they are afraid of Iran's retaliatory action and this is the reason of their reluctancy.

At the same time, the reactions to the ocean voyage of the 86th fleet show the global trust in Iran's maritime capacity in providing security for maritime trades, which can be a new dimension of multilateralism and ways of confronting the monopoly security blackmail of the Western countries.

The Western countries’ concern about Iran becoming a role model for other countries is also an important point in the field of maritime security, and they have turned this subject into another puzzle piece for completing the puzzle of Iran's power-creating components in the nuclear field, knowledge bases, drones, missiles, etc., which have given additional power to independence-seeking countries against American domination, and incidentally, this is the reason why they seek not to lift the sanctions on Iran’s drones and missiles programs in October 2023 - according to the JCPOA and Resolution 2231.

In the meantime, the UN Shipping Agency's support in accepting America's illegal demand against Iran is a warning about the legitimacy of international institutions that have practically gone off the rails with such behavior, the new world order is moving towards multilateralism, in this new system, the submission of international institutions to American coercion will definitely be costly for their prestige and status.

By all means; America's illegal action in the recent maritime meeting has shown the corrupted political nature of international institutions and its structures and the dire need to change their structure and nature, but ultimately, this matter has revealed the decline of American unilateralism to everyone.
