The necessity of full implementing the Baghdad-Tehran security agreement for dealing with terrorism

Certainly, with the strict implementation of the provisions of the Baghdad-Tehran security agreement, in addition to significantly reducing terrorist threats and preventing the creation of border insecurity, the grounds for the all-round development of relations between the two countries in political, economic and security dimensions will be provided more than before.

NOURNEWS- A few days ago, Iraqi media outlets reported a fierce armed conflict between 2 Kurdish separatist groups opposing Islamic republic of Iran in a village near the border of our country, which left 2 dead and 2 wounded.

This conflict occurred after 2 terrorist groups " Komala of the Toilers of Kurdistan " and " Komala of the revolutionary Toilers of Kurdistan " announced that they had ended their alliance after seven months.

During the past months, these separatist currents, under the pretext of "women, life, freedom" and under the guise of deceptive concepts such as pluralism, in practice sought to divide Iran and undermine the territorial integrity and territorial integrity of the country.

The noteworthy point in this regard was the revelation of the terrorist nature of these groups, which, by settling in the Kurdistan region of Iraq, have been coveting Iran's national unity and territorial integrity for years with patriotism and show no mercy even to each other in order to achieve their ambitions.

A look at the records of these groups shows that their activities have not only deprived the local residents of these areas and threatened the security of the country of Iraq and the stability of the entire region.

On the other hand; The evidence and documents show the connection of these terrorist groups with other terrorist movements and state terrorism of the Zionist regime, especially, the authorities of the Iraqi Kurdistan Region have not been as decisive and serious in fighting and confronting these movements as they should be.

Although, according to all international laws, the Islamic Republic has the right to confront and fight these currents and to fight terrorism in order to ensure the security and territorial integrity of Iran, and this includes outside its borders, but this right does not negate the responsibility of regional governments, including Iraq in the fight against terrorism and maintaining the security of the borders.

The Islamic Republic of Iran always emphasizes that, along with the right to respond to any security threats inside and outside the borders, it is ready to cooperate and synergize with the countries of the West Asia to fight terrorism and establish stable security in the region.

Based on this coalition and security-oriented approach, which definitely brings many economic and political achievements for Iran, its neighbors and the entire region, the Islamic Republic emphasizes on drafting and implementing security agreements with neighboring countries.

In the same framework, in the end of March, during the visit of Admiral Shamkhani, then Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council, to Baghdad, a security agreement was signed between the two countries and the parties emphasized the necessity of its implementation.

One of the important topics agreed between the two countries was the issue of disarming and expelling these groups that committed crimes and killings against the people of Iran.

Tehran, while presenting the documents of the crimes and terrorist behaviors of these groups against Iran and the region to the Iraqi statesmen, demanded practical and comprehensive measures from Baghdad to deal with these movements.

With a realistic understanding of the destructive consequences of the establishment and activities of terrorist groups in Iraq on the relations between Iran and this country and the security of the region, Iraqi statesmen have taken an interactive approach to the Tehran-Baghdad security agreement, as Qasim al-Araji, the national security advisor of Iraq, also in a meeting with Ali Shamkhani has said: Undoubtedly, the agreement between the two countries to eliminate the security challenges imposed on Iran-Iraq relations will serve the interests of the two friendly and brotherly countries.

He noted: Baghdad will make every effort to fully implement this agreement and will not allow any group or country to use Iraqi soil to create insecurity in Iran.

Considering the provisions of this agreement and in the situation that the Kurdistan Region of Iraq has not taken steps to fight these currents, it seems that the time has come for the Baghdad government to take practical action to implement its security obligations towards Iran.

On the other hand; Considering the anti-security consequences of the recent clashes between Kurdish anti-revolutionary groups, it is necessary for the Iraqi government to take serious measures to arrest and punish these people within the framework of the security agreement between the two countries.

Dealing with and punishing these groups is one of the tasks that Baghdad is committed to doing in line with its security and according to the Baghdad-Tehran security agreement, and the Islamic Republic will not hesitate to cooperate in order to achieve this goal.

Decisive efforts for dealing with the aforementioned movements, in addition to ensuring the security of the two countries, can be an important component in realizing the economic and political goals of the two neighboring countries, at the same time, the authorities of the Kurdistan Region of Iraq should also pay attention to the fact that the continued presence of terrorist and separatist currents in the territory of this country, such as The presence of foreign security agencies is unacceptable, and if regional leaders do not pay attention to this matter, Iran considers it its lawful right to target these movements that disrupt Iran and West Asia’s security and as it did the same in the past, and will not fail to do so.
