Annual meeting of human rights council; the margins are bolder than the text
The agents behind the scenes and the main leaders of the fugitive anti-revolution movements have started an all-out effort to prevent the Iranian Foreign Minister from attending the UN Human Rights Council meeting in Geneva and denying the possibility of presenting Iran's views in this meeting, that is irrelevant to their claims about freedom of speech.
NOURNEWS - Hossein Amirabdollahian, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Iran, arrived in Geneva on Sunday night to participate in the 52nd meeting of the Human Rights Council and also the annual meeting of the Conference on Disarmament.
He is going to attend the high-ranking officials section of the 52nd meeting of the United Nations Human Rights Council and explain the positions of the Islamic Republic of Iran on human rights issues.
The annual meeting of the United Nations Human Rights Council, which can be referred to as the European equivalent of the annual meeting of the General Assembly, has gained great importance in the last ten years due to the greater attention of public opinion to issues related to human rights.
On the other hand, the Human Rights Council is becoming a competitor to the Security Council due to reasons such as the universality of the concept of human rights, the possibility of the presence of non-governmental organizations and various international institutions, and the lack of veto rights for its members.
The different characteristics of the human rights meeting, as well as the possibility of active action of non-governmental groups in it, at the same time, also provides the possibility of the emergence of non-governmental views at the level of an international meeting, could be a field for the role of organized pressure groups against governments.
The opposition and anti-revolution movements that have escaped from Iran, are also groups that have always tried to use this capacity in the past years to promote themselves and create space against the Islamic Republic of Iran.
Considering the events of the past months in Iran, the opposition groups, who have become completely passive especially after the participation of the Iranian people in the 12th of February parade, have made a great effort in the past days to show themselves on the sidelines of this meeting.
The main plan of the mentioned groups is to make the psychological atmosphere of the meeting insecure for the presence and speech of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Iran and the possible speech of people at lower levels, so that with the help of the Persian language mercenaries media, they can give broad anti-Iranian dimensions to these actions.
Among the goals of the anti-Iranian currents and the opposition is to prevent the presence of Iran at the highest levels of the Human Rights Council, to make the atmosphere created by the facilities of this council insecure and ineffective for expressing different views and narrating the presence of Iranian officials in this meeting.
The anti-revolutionary movement, influenced by the emergency meeting of this council in December and the council's decision to form a fact-finding committee about Iran's internal events, has been making extensive efforts since a few months ago to, if possible, eliminate the presence of Iran and to prevent the official narrative of Iran in regarding the problems that occurred in the fall of 1401, but they did not succeed in this regard.
Iran had previously submitted nearly 25 different reports to the Human Rights Council for the December meeting that led to the formation of the fact-finding committee, but none of them were paid attention to.
In the meantime, one of the key questions from the behind-the-scenes factors and the main leaders of these events is that the all-out effort to prevent the presence of the Iranian Foreign Minister in the meeting and deprive him of the opportunity to present his opinion, is that if such efforts have anything to do with freedom of speech and who benefits from not hearing the official narrative of Iran?
It seems that if the Human Rights Council, taking into account its broad functions and capabilities, does not deal with the behavior and actions of organized pressure groups in an appropriate and effective manner and allows political processes to replace the procedure, will lose its function and become a completely closed structure like the United Nations Security Council, that is only a tool to pursue the political goals of the great powers.
