The agreement will not be sustainable without the acceptance of mutual obligations

The uncommitted US and the inactive Europe cannot expect Tehran to come to an agreement by re-committing to limiting its nuclear activities and without obtaining a real and firm commitment from the West to remove all the areas that can be used as an excuse to prevent Iran's economic benefits.

NOURNEWS - Last evening, Saturday, September 10th, the three European countries that are members of the P4+1, in a joint statement with a non-diplomatic language, announced their position regarding the conditions governing the sanctions lifting negotiations and, as in the past, called Iran the cause of the lack of agreement.

In parts of this statement, it is stated that:

"Unfortunately, Iran chose not to take advantage of the diplomatic and vital opportunity of negotiations, but on the contrary continues to escalate the situation of its nuclear program in a way beyond any understandable civilian justification.

While we were getting closer to an agreement, Iran reopened separate issues related to the country's obligations under the NPT and safeguards agreements with the International Atomic Energy Agency.

Considering that Iran has not finalized the agreement on the table, we will consult with our international partners on how to respond to Iran's continued nuclear escalation and the country's non-cooperation with the IAEA in the context of the NPT Safeguards Agreement.”

In response to this statement, the spokesman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Iran said:

"It is regrettable that the three European countries, with this ill-considered statement, have taken a step in the path of the Zionist regime's failure of negotiations. Instead of entering the phase of destroying the diplomatic process, the three European countries are advised to provide a solution to end the few remaining differences of opinion. play a more active role."

Regarding the statement issued by the three European countries, there are several important points:

First; According to many independent experts as well as the coordinator of the European Union, since the beginning of the new round of negotiations, the Islamic Republic of Iran has always followed a logical and diplomatic path and, respecting its national interests and red lines, has done what it takes to advance the negotiations towards a strong agreement. It has done what was required to be reliable and stable.

Meanwhile, from the very beginning, the western side of the negotiations, by focusing its efforts on extra-negotiation tools, tried to use all the media-political capacities available outside the negotiation room to intensify the pressure on Tehran and advance the apparent blame game against Iran.

The non-negotiating behavior of the three European countries went so far that even because their presence was useless in the progress of the talks, the other parties preferred to follow up the negotiations without their presence, so the claim of Iran not using what they call an opportunity is more like a ridiculous joke.

Second; Contrary to the claim of three European countries, Iran's recent responses were not in any way opening up new issues and emphasizing the issues that were raised in the negotiations from the beginning and are among the most important issues, the non-acceptance of which by the western side shows their lack of will to The formation of an agreement is strong and stable.

The requests and initiatives raised by Iran in the course of the talks have always been raised with the approach of moving forward to achieve a strong, stable and reliable agreement, and naturally accusing Iran of evading its safeguard obligations shows the continuation of making excuses for evading obligations and laying the groundwork. It remains to use a tool of protection issues.

Third; The history of negotiations on the lifting of sanctions over the past ten months shows that the 13th government will not give in under the pressure of fake deadlines to retreat from the rights of the Iranian people, so it is not clear why the three European countries still insist on adopting this pointless and useless policy.

Fourth; In the framework of the JCPOA agreement, in response to the concern of the western side regarding Iran's peaceful nuclear program, Iran committed to limit part of its nuclear activities and fulfilled all its obligations as certified by the International Atomic Energy Agency.

With the black history that the US and Europe have in their bad faith and inaction towards their commitments, they cannot expect Tehran to commit again to limiting its nuclear activities and without obtaining a real and firm commitment from the West to resolve all the issues that can be used as an excuse in order to prevent Iran's economic profit from becoming a part of the new agreement.

In any case, what is certain is that; The European side of P4+1, which is one of the main culprits of creating the current situation, especially after the withdrawal of the United States from the JCPOA, until today, not only have they not taken any steps to facilitate the negotiation process and Washington's return to the JCPOA, they are clearly unwilling to accept their obligations according to the JCPOA, and it is interesting that in such a situation they still accuse Iran of not doing enough.
