NOURNEWS - In the special meeting of the Supreme National Security Council, which was held Monday, August 15, Ali Bagheri Keni, the chief negotiator of Iran, presented an extensive report to the members of the meeting on the process of reviewing the EU coordinator ideas.
Although the news announced from this meeting of the Supreme National Security Council did not mention the details of the talks and the content of the summary of opinions, but Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian announced that Iran's opinions will be submitted to the European Union coordinator by same day at the latest, and this happened on time.
Joseph Burrell, the coordinator of the European Union, announced in the midnight of Monday that he had received Iran's written response regarding the draft text of the JCPOA revival agreement.
On the other hand, Ned Price, the spokesman of the US State Department, said on Monday: “We will present our response to the European proposal in a clear manner and we will return to the agreement as soon as Iran's commitment is announced.” He added that what can be negotiated in Iran's nuclear case has been completed and they do not disclose their position that have handed over to the Europeans.
During this week, the series of news published from domestic and foreign sources in the form of official reports or political and media analyzes indicate a relative progress in the negotiations, although it is not possible to be 100% certain until the views of Iran, which definitely do not match the EU coordinator ideas. Definite statements were made about the outcome of the talks, but the exit of the negotiations from the previous stagnation must be considered as a constructive approach.
The reports received by Nournews indicate that in the ideas proposed by the European Union coordinator, some of Iran's concerns, which have been pursued under the three main axes in the negotiations, have not been given a clear answer, and the opinions expressed to the European Union by Iran also refer to the necessity of providing the legal demands of Iran.
In this regard, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Iran announced in a conversation with reporters: “If our opinions on these three issues, which are also reasonable, are realized, we are ready to enter the agreement stage.”
The statements of Joseph Burrell, the coordinator of the European Union, after receiving Iran's comments, confirmed the existence of a difference of opinion between the ideas presented and the views of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
Burrell said: “US has also expressed its opinion privately, we will continue to try to bring the opinions closer together.”
Although in recent days and especially after sending Iran's comments to the European Union, many speculations and statements have been made about the nature of Iran's response and the views of the United States in this regard, but until the official comments from the parties present in the negotiations, none of the published news and analyzes can reflect the current realities regarding the outcome of negotiations.
What can be said with certainty about Iran's position was emphasized in the frank statements of Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian: “We cannot cross our red line and we cannot sign an agreement that will expire after a period of time, for example 40 days after the agreement nothing happens on earth. We are looking for an agreement that people can see in their lives.”
