Iranian negotiating team to leave for Qatar

The ministry also said that the upcoming talks will be held indirectly with the United States, and that nothing will be added or reduced from what has already been agreed on in Vienna.
NOURNEWS – Iran’s Foreign Ministry Spokesman Nasser Kanani said on Monday night that the Iranian negotiating team will depart for Qatar next day for talks over the revival of the 2015 nuclear deal. Kanani confirmed an earlier report by IRNA that the talks will kick off in the Persian Gulf Arab country on Tuesday, and said that the Iranian negotiating team will be led by Deputy Foreign Minister Ali Bagheri Kani. Earlier on Monday, the Foreign Ministry also said that the talks will cover issues on the removal of anti-Iran sanctions, which have been left unresolved in the Vienna discussions. The ministry also said that the upcoming talks will be held indirectly with the United States, and that nothing will be added or reduced from what has already been agreed on in Vienna. The Vienna negotiations began in April 2021 to revive the Iranian nuclear deal which got into trouble three years earlier after the US abandoned the accord and re-imposed sanctions on Iran. Iran has time and again said that any agreement to revive the 2015 deal should result in the full removal of the sanctions in a verifiable manner.
