Admiral Shamkhani met with the President of Uzbekistan

Admiral Ali Shamkhani, Representative of the Supreme Leader of Iran and Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council, who visited Tashkent, met with Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev this afternoon.

NOURNEWS - In this meeting, Shamkhani conveyed the warm message of the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Mirziyoyev and congratulated him on the 30th anniversary of the independence of his friendly and brotherly Uzbekistan, and announced our country's readiness to develop and deepen relations in all aspects.

Referring to the volume of trade between the two countries, Shamkhani considered it necessary to take the necessary measures to activate potential economic capacities and create the necessary facilities in this field.

The Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council of our country expressed hope that the signing of an important document on security cooperation between the two countries will pave the way for further success in overcoming common threats.

In the end, the Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council thanked Uzbekistan for its support for Iran's membership in the Shanghai Cooperation Organization and expressed hope that this support would continue until our country's membership is finalized.

During the meeting, the President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, greeted the Supreme Leader and the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran and said: “ It is very important for us to accelerate the activation of the areas of joint cooperation that we agreed on in the meeting with President Raisi.”

Expressing satisfaction with the signing of the document on security cooperation between Uzbekistan and Iran, Mirziyoyev said: “ It is necessary to strictly follow and implement the provisions of this document by increasing the scheduled communication between the security institutions of the two countries.”

The President of Uzbekistan said that the cooperation between Iran and Uzbekistan to establish rail and road transport corridors through Turkmenistan and Afghanistan to the warm waters of southern Iran has significant economic benefits for the four countries.

 Referring to the situation in Afghanistan and the need for redoubled efforts of its neighbors to reduce livelihood pressures to the people, he added: “ The establishment of an inclusive government in Afghanistan can be an important step in creating peace and stability in this country.”
