NOURNEWS - The International Atomic Energy Agency announced that Rafael Grossi, the Director-General of this organization, went to Tehran on Saturday 5 March to meet with Iranian officials.
This visit is important in the midst of negotiations to lift sanctions in Vienna, where the agreement remains unclear due to outstanding issues.
Among the important issues that were mentioned and that constitute a serious obstacle to reaching an agreement are the issues of the current safeguards between Iran and the International Atomic Energy Agency. Also on Thursday, Israeli Defense Minister Benny Gantz, referring to the possibility of an agreement in the Vienna talks, stressed the need to prevent Iran's development in the nuclear field, and he said that whether an agreement is reached in Vienna or not, Tel Aviv will continue to act against Tehran.
