Why is the United States seeking to erode the negotiations?

Assessing the performance of the Westerners in this round of negotiations shows that, contrary to Iran's serious and pragmatic approach, their approach has not been to focus on the text of the negotiations and offer specific solutions, but to conduct blame game and waste time.

NOURNEWS - The preliminary round of the new Vienna talks between the representatives of Iran and the P4+1 ended on Friday, when the European parties, in the face of the official and operational proposals of the Iranian delegation, preferred to return to their capitals to consult and decide on how to continue the talks.

Assessing the Westerners' performance in this round of talks shows that, contrary to Iran's serious and pragmatic approach, one of the most important issues they have pursued in the past five days has not been to focus on the text of the talks and offer specific solutions, but to conduct blame game and waste time.

However, one of the accusations that Westerners have made against Iran before and after the start of the talks is that Tehran is seeking to delay and prolong the negotiation process in various ways.

Accordingly, immediately after the announcement of the end of the new round of talks, the Western media operations intensified with the same approach.

A significant issue that needs to be addressed, but which side, and for what reason, benefits from the prolongation of the negotiations?

Iran has entered into negotiations to reach an agreement on lifting sanctions that have affected the country's economy, and is naturally interested in foreign policy and negotiations, despite the effective measures taken over the past few months to reduce the country's economy, means reaching an agreement to lift sanctions.

Iran has stated from the beginning that it is ready to return to its obligations in the face of the lifting of sanctions (the commitment of the Western parties to the JCPOA) and has proven in the past that it will do so with full commitment, with this argument, there is no reason for Iran to want to prolong and erode the negotiations.

On the other hand, the United States, which has previously proven its disobedience and lack of coherence in its governing structure by illegally withdrawing from the JCPOA, is now reluctant to return to its obligations under UNSCR 2231, and not only speaks of selective implementation of its obligations but is not willing to provide any guarantee that the previous conditions will not be repeated and that the agreement will not be violated again.

In such circumstances, and in order to increase pressure on Iran and force the Islamic Republic to surrender to the demands of the West, the United States and the three European countries, which are merely agents of Washington and have no independent role in the negotiations, use several levers to advance their goals and continue to put pressure on Iran.

Axes such as influencing the economic environment inside Iran and taking overt and covert measures to raise foreign exchange rates, inciting trade unions to hold protest rallies and raising their demands, repeated direct and indirect military threats, and activating the Zionist's amusement tent, and the loud release of the IAEA's regular reports threatening the legal and peaceful activities of the Iranian nuclear system, are the main levers that the Western front is trying to use to change the equation at the Vienna table.

The United States and Europe, knowing full well that they do not have a legal say in accordance with the JCPOA agreements to be presented at the negotiating table, seek only to prolong the negotiations with media hype and propaganda rhetoric in order to use non-negotiating levers on the way to surrender Iran, at the same time, they accuse Iran of trying to waste time and erode the negotiations.

The equation discussed in Vienna is very simple and quick to solve if seen with fair glasses and measured with the JCPOA line.

The complexity of the negotiations began when the Western side intended not to relinquish Iran's rights by obtaining extr-JCPOA concessions.

The return of the negotiating train to the main track depends only on the will of the West, because Iran has put its will on the table by presenting precise, legal and based proposals on the agreements reached in JCPOA, and paving the way for all sides in the negotiations in order to reach to a good, fast and lasting agreement.
