Intifadas to Remain Forever

I agree that Israel was born in sin because of the Nakba, and the destruction of Palestine. I know that other countries were born in sin but Israel has never taken a step to rectify this and has only been stealing more land from Palestinians

NOURNEWS - Philip Weiss, author and journalist, says Palestinians will never be tired of resistance to the Israeli “apartheid prosecution”.

Speaking in an interview, Weiss said, “I agree that Israel was born in sin because of the Nakba, and the destruction of Palestine. I know that other countries were born in sin but Israel has never taken a step to rectify this and has only been stealing more land from Palestinians . Many Jews are leaving Israel for the States, because they know Israel has not been able to deal with its constitutional problem.”

Philip Weiss is an American author and journalist. He is the founder and senior editor of Mondoweiss, an independent website reporting and analyzing the developments in Israel/Palestine and related US foreign policy. It provides news and analysis regarding the struggle for Palestinian human rights.

Below is the full text of the interview:

Q: Yaakov Sharett says “Israel and the Zionist enterprise were born in sin.” How significant are these words when said by the son of a signatory to the Israeli declaration in 1948?

A: I agree that Israel was born in sin because of the Nakba, and the destruction of Palestine. I know that other countries were born in sin but Israel has never taken a step to rectify this and has only been stealing more land from Palestinians and expelling them into a small area of the West Bank, and has never compensated anyone for the theft of their property.

Q: Why do you think Yaakov Sharett predicts a dark future for Israel and asks settlers to immigrate from Israel, like Lawrence Wilkerson, former US State Department aide, who said Israel will be gone in some 20 years?

A: Many Jews are leaving Israel for the States, because they know Israel has not been able to deal with its constitutional problem: It gives the indigenous people no rights, or very limited rights. There will be intifadas forever because of this apartheid persecution. Democracy is the way out, but Israel cannot choose it.

Q: Do you believe the rosy picture the Western mainstream media draws of Israel for the world, could still effectively buy Israel help and support from the world? How could the alternative media shed light on the nature and fate of Israel?

A: Alternative media has a big responsibility to show that Israel is a rich country (per capita GDP more than France, Japan, UK) that gets billions from the US every year to support apartheid. These are factual assertions. When Americans hear them things will change.
