The clear JCPOA message of Iran in New York

If the logic of any negotiation and agreement requires, Iran wants to act against the action and verify the commitments of the West, so the task of Europe and the United States is quite clear and that no agreement is possible except by changing hostile behavior, fulfilling obligations and accepting the inalienable rights of the Iranian people.

NOURNEWS - During the 76th UN General Assembly in New York, our Minister of Foreign Affairs, Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, has scheduled numerous intensive meetings with his counterparts and officials from other countries.

Among them are his meetings and consultations with European officials, including EU foreign policy chief Josep Borrell, German Foreign Minister Heiko Maas, British Foreign Secretary Liz Truss, Vice President of Switzerland Ignazio Cassis and Alexander Schallenberg, the Austrian Foreign Minister, etc., received more attention due to JCPOA issues.

During these meetings, the Foreign Minister clearly shared the strategy and expectations of the Islamic Republic regarding the JCPOA negotiations with the European parties and informed them of the official policy of the country in this regard.

Amir Abdullahian, emphasizing principles such as not wasting time, not giving in to Western extravagance, refusing to accept the revision of the initial agreement, not accepting new amendments, the need for truthfulness, testing and implementation without compromise, explained the main axes of the country's official policy on JCPOA negotiations. He stressed Iran's determination to continue the talks.

In this regard, it is necessary to pay attention to the following points:

First; The reason for the interruption in the talks, rather than the change of government in Iran, is the stalemate that the Americans have created due to non-acceptance of their commitments, so the Western side cannot justify its sanctions and threats by claiming that Iran is not negotiating.

Second; Tehran is not looking to waste time, nor is it accepting the Western side of the game with time, so it will not accept that the United States and Europe want to put their irrational menus on the throne under this pretext.

Third; The failure of the policy of maximum pressure showed the era of threats and coercion of the past, so the Western parties of JCPOA must abandon this policy of negotiation and enter into negotiations based on the existing facts and fulfill their obligations.

Fourth; The issue of JCPOA is nuclear, and Iran will never accept a review of it and the addition of new issues.

Fifth; If the logic of any negotiation and agreement demands it, Iran wants to act against the practice and verify the West's commitments, and will not succumb to unilateral commitments and excessive demands.

Sixth; The United States and Europe must change the misguided practice of using the Agency and its Secretary-General as a tool and no longer play with the status of this international legal-technical body.

Seventh; The West should know that the Islamic Republic does not deny JCPOA and does not depend on it, and the approach of the new government in Iran is not to tie the economy and livelihood to this agreement.

According to this; The task of Europe and the United States in the negotiations is quite clear, and that is that no agreement will be reached except by changing hostile behavior, fully fulfilling the obligations and accepting the inalienable rights of the Iranian people.
