Former Soviet diplomat: The United States remains against Iran

Former Soviet diplomat Mikhail Goshev, a current Russian political expert, believes that Donald Trump's various mistakes at home and abroad have made the United States a helpless country against Iran, which, despite using all means against Tehran, does not achieve its goals.

NOURNEWS- Speaking to IRNA in Moscow on Sunday, Gusif said that Trump had failed to solve US problems, adding that the US president had targeted Iran to divert public opinion.

He added: "The most important issue in the United States today is the widespread outbreak of corona in all states of the United States, which has claimed more than 67,000 lives and affected one million people, most of whom have died and are unable to work."

"The United States is at the forefront of the world in terms of the number of victims and corona and Trump is responsible for the wrong policies and the lack of timely action," Gosif said.

"If Trump hadn't neglected and compared Corona's deadly disease to the flu, the situation in the United States would be much better today," Gusif said.

He noted that Trump had threatened Iran to reduce the impact of his deadly mistake on the Corona issue, and claimed that Washington would target IRGC boats in the Persian Gulf.

Asked why American ships should be present in the waters of the Persian Gulf and cause tension in the region, the former Soviet diplomat said: "The presence of American and Western ships in Iran's coastal waters will not strengthen the security of the region in any way. If the countries of the region provide security for the Persian Gulf and the Sea of Oman, the effectiveness of these measures will be greater and the tension will be eliminated.

"Another problem for Trump is the failure of US policy in the Middle East, because Washington has not achieved its goals in the region," the Russian expert said.

He added that the United States and its Western and Arab allies had spent billions of dollars to overthrow Bashar al-Assad's legitimate government in Syria and provided thousands of weapons to terrorists in the name of helping freedom and human rights.

"If it weren't for the West's intervention, hundreds of thousands of Syrians wouldn't have been killed," Trump said. "Even though Trump promised to withdraw his troops from Syria after the victory, he did not."

The Russian expert added: "Trump is also seeking to create tension in Iraq, and despite the fact that the Iraqi parliament has voted to withdraw US troops, Washington continues its undemocratic behavior in this country."

According to Gosif, Trump also threatened Iran in Iraq, and in fact linked public hatred in Iraq to Tehran's policies, but this is not the case, and the people of the Middle East are annoyed by the presence of American occupiers in their country and do not want more. Witness the crimes of American forces in their country.

He added that Trump had made a mistake in Iraq and that sooner or later American forces would be forced to leave the country.

Gosiev believes that the United States cannot achieve its goals by imposing sanctions on Iran, and that Washington's withdrawal from the UN Security Council two years ago dealt a severe blow to its image.

He continued: "The whole world has witnessed how the United States ignored this international agreement and violated Security Council Resolution 2231, and in fact, by doing so, showed the world disregard for international rules and regulations."

The former Russian diplomat noted that the United States could not achieve its goals of repelling Iran and preventing its progress, and the launch of Iran's Noor 1 military satellite well illustrated this fact.
