NOURNEWS- Mustafa Ghanei described Iran as a country rich in fossil resources and added: "These resources, along with their material value, are the basis of all biological products, including agriculture, food, medicine, industry and chemistry."
He added: "Sustainable use of basic natural resources can lead to poverty alleviation and food security in the country, and as a result, economic, social and even political development of the country."
Emphasizing on defining various programs to increase productivity and preserve the country's genetic resources, Ghanei said: "The Biotechnology Development Headquarters in the Working Group on Biobanks and Genetic Resources is pursuing improving the quality and quantity of services of the country's gene banks and biobanks."
The Secretary of the Office of Biotechnology Development of the Vice President for Science and Technology reminded: "Protection, conservation and sustainable use of these resources will guarantee the life of the country now and in the future, and its transmission to future generations is an important national duty of all of us."
