NOURNEWS- In the next few days, Lithuania will host the NATO summit, which has been affected by the recent US actions towards Ukraine.
In a thought-provoking move a few days before the upcoming meeting of member states of NATO in Lithuanian, the president of US, Joe Biden said in an interview with CNN news channel: "It was a "difficult decision" to send cluster bombs to Ukraine, but he made this decision because Kyiv needed these bombs.
The White House had confirmed hours before that interview that Biden had agreed to send the controversial ammunition to Ukraine for use against Russian forces.
Biden used the keyword "Ukraine's need" to justify this action, but his decision can lead into a humanitarian disaster, there are many doubts about the sincerity of his claim, because even though Ukraine, since the beginning of the war, has demanded heavy weapons along with F-16 fighters, but the US has always avoided doing it.
Meanwhile; Ukraine considers membership in NATO a necessity for its security and future, and even agreed to start a war against Russia in order to achieve this, but the US and other members of NATO officially rejected this membership, as Biden said in his recent interview: Ukraine It is not yet ready to join NATO!
Jens Stoltenberg, the Secretary General of NATO, also said last month: Ukraine will not be officially invited to become a member of this alliance in this meeting, but the ways of "bringing Ukraine closer to NATO" will be discussed.
Considering these conditions, Mr. Biden's statement of giving cluster bombs to Ukraine because of the country's needs, is more like a joke and a fictional story than a reality.
On the one hand, this action was taken to put pressure on the European countries to increase the amount of weapons which they send to Ukraine to prolong the war, and on the other hand, it is a concession to the Ukrainians in order to reduce the pressure of Kyiv in the face of the American opposition to Ukraine's membership in NATO at the upcoming meeting in Lithuania.
In the meantime; The noteworthy point is the opposition of Germany, France, Canada, Spain, Austria, and Italy to America’s decision for sending cluster bombs to Ukraine. Of course, it goes without saying that although Britain has apparently claimed to oppose this action taken by the US, the monitoring of the country's sovereign Media such as the BBC shows Britain’s full support in regards to this matter.
Without referring to the human and environmental consequences of using these bombs, the BBC not only justified this action, but also considered it necessary and even the Europeans' opposition to it was wrong, and the consequence of not using it was the reduction of America's superiority over Russia in the war and the Creation of a void between America and its allies!
