NOURNEWS - Qasim al-Araji, National security advisor of Iraq who traveled to Tehran, this morning met with Dr. Ali Akbar Ahmadian, the representative of the Supreme Leader and the secretary of the Supreme National Security Council of our country, and discussed with him bilateral issues, especially the implementation of the recent security agreement between the two countries. He discussed the country and also the most important regional and international developments.
In this meeting, Dr. Ahmadian, referring to the long shared religious, religious and civilizational roots between Iran and Iraq, considered it a guarantee of deep and extensive relations between the two countries.
The Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council of our country, stating that the policy of the Islamic Republic of Iran has always been to support the government based on the will of the people in Iraq; He clarified: The blood of the martyrs of the two countries is intermingled in the relentless fight against terrorism and insecurity, and the most obvious of them is the martyrdom of the great leaders of the resistance, the martyrs Qasem Soleimani and Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis.
Dr. Ahmadian described the recent security agreement, which is the result of months of discussions and joint efforts of the relevant institutions of the two countries, as a very appropriate and strategic measure and emphasized on the strict implementation of its provisions.
He clarified and said: We expect the Iraqi government to guarantee the security of the country's borders with Iran as soon as possible while ending the presence of anti-revolutionary elements in this country within the framework of this agreement.
The secretary of the Supreme National Security Council of our country emphasized the follow-up and implementation of other agreements between Iran and Iraq, especially the economic agreements between the two countries, and said: The will of the Islamic Republic of Iran is to comprehensively expand and deepen relations with neighboring countries, especially the friendly and brotherly country of Iraq. And we are ready for bilateral and multilateral cooperation and interaction to implement this policy in all dimensions.
In this meeting, Qasim al-Araji, Iraq's National Security Adviser, congratulated Dr. Ahmadian on his appointment as the Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council of the Islamic Republic of Iran and wished him success. The Secretary of the National Security Council of Iraq, referring to the privileged relations between the two countries, which has always continued, said: We consider Iraq's security to be Iran's security and Iran's security to be Iraq's security.
