The important influence of small Turkish parties in the second round of elections

Oğan now considers himself to be a decisive politician in Turkey, and his close friends have emphasized to him that if he becomes the bridge to the victory of one of the two election candidates, he can play a significant role in the political future of Turkey and get at least two or three ministries in the future government.

NOURNEWS - Following the holding of the Turkish presidential election and the appearance of the top two candidates in the second round, the competition between Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu has become the main concern of Turkish citizens.

Erdoğan's supporters are trying to keep their candidate's ballot, and to direct some of the gray and silent votes to them in the second round of the election.

On the other hand, Kılıçdaroğlu and his companions in the People's Republican Party have also started a double effort to gain the support of Sinan Oğan, the third runner-up in the Turkish presidential election.

Kılıçdaroğlu's supporters argue that if 5 percent of the votes of Oğan's supporters go to Kılıçdaroğlu's ballot box, he will certainly win in the second round of elections and Erdoğan will say goodbye to the power scene in Ankara after two decades.

Even some analytical sources in Turkey have considered Sinan Oğan’s recent implied opposition to Erdoğan’s immigration (nationality) and economic policies as his support for Kılıçdaroğlu.

Oğan now considers himself to be a decisive politician in Turkey, and his close friends have emphasized to him that if he becomes the bridge to the victory of one of the two election candidates, he can play a significant role in the political future of Turkey and get at least two or three ministries in the future government.

Oğan participated in the recent elections as a candidate of the Zafar party and the far-right coalition "Father" and with the resignation of "Moharram Injeh", he attracted the votes of the protesting citizens who, although they are protesting against Erdogan's performance and want change, are willing to vote but They are not going to vote for Kılıçdaroğlu either.

Therefore, the 5 percent votes cast in Oğan’s basket cannot be considered as pure wote for other candidates. In such a situation, Oğan’s influence in the second round of the elections will probably be around 2 to 3 pervent and not 5 percent.

In any case, Kılıçdaroğlu and Erdoğan's way to the second round of the elections has made the political equations in Turkey more complicated, and the confrontation between these two and their supporters will probably reach its peak in the next two upcoming weeks, a conflict that will continue even after the elections.

The point is; Although Sinan Oğan has been identified as a critic candidate of the Justice and Development Party and even its coalition partner, the People's Nationalist Party led by the Baghcheli Government, but he does not have a good relationship with the candidate of Erdoğan's rival Kılıçdaroğlu, so it cannot be argued that Oğan’s unlikely support for Kılıçdaroğlu will lead to the full transfer of 5 percent of his votes to Kılıçdaroğlu's portfolio.

Turkey's presidential election experience has shown that lesser-known politicians and small parties in major elections can score big points in exchange for a clever electoral game, a rule that is particularly true for Sinan Oğan.
