Trump Adds Insult to Injury for Protesters

The US President threatens to unleash gunfire on protesters if they continue their rally over the murder of yet another unarmed African American by the police.

NOURNEWS - US President Donald Trump threatens to unleash gunfire on Minnesota protesters if they continue their rally over the murder of yet another unarmed African American by the police.

Trump responded to the protest on Twitter, saying: "I can't stand back & watch this happen to a great American City, Minneapolis. A total lack of leadership. Either the very weak Radical Left Mayor, Jacob Frey, get his act together and bring the City under control, or I will send in the National Guard & get the job done right....."

He then replied to his own tweet, saying: "....These THUGS are dishonoring the memory of George Floyd, and I won't let that happen. Just spoke to Governor Tim Walz and told him that the Military is with him all the way. Any difficulty and we will assume control but, when the looting starts, the shooting starts. Thank you!"

US media reported that anti-violence demonstrations surrounded the building of the Third District Police Station in Minneapolis and were trying to seize it.

CBS network also reported from Minneapolis that protesters were able to break down the entrance doors of the building and set it on fire after entering.

Minnesota National Guard said it had sent about 500 troops to crack down on protesters in Minneapolis.

George Floyd a 40-year-old black man died on Monday after a white Minneapolis police officer used his knee to pin Floyd's neck to the ground for several minutes and prevented him from breathing.
