NOURNEWS - The Secretariat of the Persian Gulf Cooperation Council announced on Monday the opening of the Joint Military Command Headquarters of the member countries of this council, including Oman, Bahrain, UAE, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and Kuwait in Riyadh.
In this context, the Secretary General of the Persian Gulf Cooperation Council said that the opening of the Joint Military Command Headquarters has been made with the aim of maintaining the stability of member states and their ability to have a united force consisting of land, air and naval defense commensurate with threats to the region and a deterrent to protect citizens against any external threats.
A look at the record of the Persian Gulf Cooperation Council shows that after 4 decades, the members of this council have not been able to have any cohesion and unity, even if they have not been able to create a single currency.
The developments of 2017 and the fragmentation of the council amid tensions between Saudi Arabia and Qatar are evidence that the council is incapable of cohesion in any area, and that the current military-security coalition is more like a dream on paper than a viable reality.
The Saudi regime has always sought to build a coalition led by Riyadh since 2014, when the Salman dynasty came to power, as exemplified by the Arab NATO plan and the Islamic Army.
The point is that; All of these coalitions remained limited to holding a few apparent meetings, and sometimes the introduction of Riyadh as the center of coordination, and Saudi Arabia was unable to implement any of these coalitions.
These experiences show Saudi Arabia's inability to build consensus, which has added to the ambiguity of the goals and fate of the Joint Military Command Headquarters of the PGCC countries that have now been raised.
On the other hand; The record of the PGCC shows that the goals of some members of the PGCC are only in the direction of achieving the goals of the United States and do not pay attention not only to the interests and security of the region but also to the interests of the PGCC members and only fulfill US demands.
The result of this approach can be seen in the support of these countries for terrorism imposed on the region, confronting the desire of the nations of the region to support the resistance against the Zionist regime and expelling the United States from the region and their direct incitement to war and killing the Yemeni people.
On the other hand; The United States has made the region's waterways unsafe with piracy, so a military alliance with that country would pave the way for escalating sabotage and the spread of piracy.
Given what has been said, the question is: what is the purpose of establishing a joint military center of the PGCC member states?
First; In recent years, Saudi Arabia has sought to seize control of the Persian Gulf Cooperation Council.
Now that Saudi Arabia is stuck in the swamp of Yemen and the internal and global situation of the Salman family is very shaky, Al-Saud wants to show his superior power in the region and the godfather of the council with such marginal and propaganda actions.
Second; Saudi Arabia, which is committed to fulfilling the demands of the United States, is now trying to expand this goodwill in order to be effective in regaining power and achieving the goals of the United States. One of Biden's slogans was to support allies, including in West Asia, to form a coalition to secure US interests, which was repeated during a recent visit by US military and political officials to the region.
The sudden formation of a joint military center of the PGCC member states can be assessed in the context of the US ability to unite the members of the council in the implementation of what they call confrontation with Iran and US resistance groups and securing US interests.
Third; Some members of the council, despite the opposition of other members and nations of the region, are on the path to compromise with the Zionist regime and have signed security and military agreements with this regime.
Considering the plan of the United States and the compromisers to justify and expand security and military convergence with the Zionist regime under the pretext of regional security, especially maritime security, the establishment of this center can be considered a step towards new dimensions of compromise with the Zionist regime.
According to this; The establishment of this center by Saudi Arabia in such circumstances is not only a step for the security of the region, but also because of Saudi Arabia's dependence on the United States and its compromising view with the Zionist regime, finally will step towards insecurity in the region.
