NOURNEWS - The fourth round of talks between Iran and the P4 + 1 aimed at lifting illegal and oppressive US sanctions and reviving the JCPOA agreement was held today, Friday, May 7, in Vienna, the capital of Austria.
The constructiveness of the talks and keeping them on the right track is the key word that the head of the Iranian negotiating team has used so far to explain the conditions of the previous three rounds of talks, but the exact details of the issues agreed upon by the parties have not been announced yet.
On the other hand, US spokespersons who are not officially and directly present at the talks, while emphasizing the complexity and difficulty of the talks, have implicitly emphasized the need to continue the process begun to reach an agreement with various literature, but also from the United States. So far, no significant details have been announced on the basis of which a more detailed analysis of the negotiation process is possible.
Regardless of the course of the negotiations so far, there are significant statements about the political situation in the Vienna talks that can be read to help achieve a more realistic analysis of the future of the talks and their similarities and differences with the previous talks that led to the JCPOA agreement:
1- Although in the previous negotiations the main basis of the parties was "distrust" and decision-making based on "measurable and tangible results and achievements", but in the current situation due to "illegal withdrawal of the United States from JCPOA and the responsibility of the Europeans" In recent years, Iran has been facing a much higher level of "distrust and concern" in the "nuclear activities", the atmosphere in the negotiations, and naturally in such circumstances, solving the existing problems will face a higher level of complexity and difficulty.
2. Trump's actions in the context of making the policy of maximum pressure effective by imposing so-called crippling sanctions have increased the complexity of effective sanctions lifting and have greatly increased Iran's sensitivity to ensure its economic interests after the lifting of sanctions. Iran's emphasis on the full and effective verification of the sanctions to be lifted is based on this.
3- Iran's effective return to peaceful nuclear programs based on the right set by the IAEA, increasing the type and number of centrifuges and increasing the volume of Iran's enriched uranium reserves, has doubled the West's concern about Iran's technological capabilities in this field and is trying to limit Reinforce the former with new interpretations to the extent that the greatest possible pressure is exerted on Iran's nuclear capabilities and capabilities.
4. The nuclear negotiations began in 2013 when the government was in a very good position to take advantage of the political success of the elections and, with the support of the popular vote, represented a secure negotiating position in front of foreign parties. In such a situation, the Iranian negotiators appeared in the negotiations with high confidence, and naturally, the other side also opened a special account for the representatives of the newly established government.
5- New negotiations at the end of the government's activity and approaching the presidential elections in June of this year, while the atmosphere of electoral competition has cast a heavy shadow over the negotiations and the results of the negotiations, before or after the end of this government's activity. It is an important proposition for different political spectrums in the country and will inevitably have negative effects on the negotiations and the spirit of the negotiators.
6. In such circumstances, and in view of the country's experience with the JCPOA agreement, the guidelines set for the negotiating team have also been set more precisely and strictly, and the vigilance and sensitivity of the policy-making and implementing areas has greatly increased. In the current situation, negotiators are more reluctant to accept an obligation without a definite assurance of economic benefit.
7. Other issues may be added to the list, including the Europeans' efforts to increase oversight of peaceful nuclear activities and the hostage-taking of Iran's legal rights in the UN Security Council to persuade Iran to accept more restrictions, all of which imply stricter dimensions, methods, and topics are negotiation.
In such circumstances, the existence of political and electoral approaches in different spectrums and factions in the country has also become a matter of concern and has had a detrimental effect on the Vienna talks.
The Supreme Leader of the Revolution has repeatedly stressed that efforts should be made to lift the oppressive sanctions as soon as possible while preserving and ensuring the legal principles and rights of the Islamic Republic of Iran. He also mentioned the need to create mechanisms to impose sanctions on the country, which discourages the enemy from using the tools of sanctions as a more important priority.
Fulfilling the demands of the leadership, which serves the national interest and the removal of foreign inhuman pressures on the livelihood of the people, is a task that all relevant sectors in the country, including the diplomatic apparatus as policy makers and other supporting institutions must be independent of approaches and Political and trade union tendencies should take a step in that direction and fulfill it as a national and revolutionary task.

In this context, and according to the considerations mentioned above, the responsibility and special work of the negotiating team has found more dimensions and complexities, and it is necessary for institutions and areas that play the role of supporting frontline soldiers of the diplomatic front with insight, tact, participation and criticism. Compassionately, we will make every effort for the decisive success of our country's negotiating team so that these loved ones can complete their serious mission in the best possible way within the framework of communication policies.
