NOURNEWS - In recent months, the Saudi regime has tried in various ways to get closer to Iraq in various fields, including political, economic, security and etc.
However, the history of Al-Saud's intervention has not left a good memory for the Iraqi people, as Saddam committed many crimes against people with the support of the Saudis, and many of the mental and psychological injuries of that time still overshadow their lives.
After the overthrow of the Ba'athist regime, however, the growing hatred of Iraqi citizens towards the Saudi regime and the crystallization of the people's contradictions with the Takfiri ideology of Wahhabism caused the new Iraqi rulers to redefine their relations with this regime and limit it according to the will of the people.
On the other hand; due to Saudi Arabia's proximity to Iraq, economic and trade issues are very important for Riyadh, and the Saudis have always tried to penetrate the political and social structure of Iraq through this window and expand their influence by abusing the element of ethnicity and religion.
In recent times, with the slogans and promises of Mustafa al-Kadhimi's government in the field of foreign policy, Riyadh has sought to redefine its relations with Baghdad in various areas of foreign policy, military, economics and security strategies, and of course green lights are shown from Baghdad in this regard.
When several meetings were held on the reconstruction of Iraq, including in Kuwait, Al-Saud tried to attract the people of this country by presenting a positive image of himself, and therefore made many promises about the reconstruction of Iraq in order to attract public opinion.
Unlike these commercials, however; the Saudi regime has not spent any money on rebuilding Iraq for the past three years, and has only reaffirmed its promises on economic, trade and reconstruction issues by sending a 14-member delegation.
Although these demonstrations, with the help of the Western media, have tried to show the Saudi activity in the eyes of the great Iraqi people, the dire economic situation in Saudi Arabia, such as the devaluation of the Saudi Rial, the severe budget deficit and the decline in oil exports, which has been unprecedented for the past five years helped to show their empty hands in this hollow propaganda.
On security issues, the Saudi army chief of staff's visit to Baghdad a few days ago and his meeting with Iraqi officials shows that they are still afraid of terrorists entering their country from the Iraqi border, despite some of the ISIS members recently arrested in Iraq having Saudi citizenship, which indicates Saudi hypocrisy in the fight against terrorism.
Joe Biden's administration has also increased Saudi moves in Iraq, signaling Riyadh's concerns about the future of its relations with countries in the region, so it is offering incentives to Iraq to find a new partner in the region, including activating Baghdad in the Persian Gulf Cooperation Council.
