In a condolence message issued on Monday, Araghchi said the prominent jurist had left a lasting legacy of profound knowledge, piety, humility and sincerity after a lifetime devoted to scholarship, teaching students and preserving Shia jurisprudential heritage.

He described the passing as a major loss for Islamic seminaries, the academic and religious community, and followers of the infallible household of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).

Araghchi extended his condolences to the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, senior religious authorities, Islamic seminaries, scholars and students, the Iranian people, and followers of the late source of emulation around the world.

He also prayed for the deceased scholar’s high spiritual rank and reunion with God’s righteous servants, while asking God to grant patience and reward to his family and bereaved relatives.

The office of Grand Ayatollah Shobeiri Zanjani announced early Monday that the prominent jurist and senior religious authority had passed away.
