Baqaei announced the trip late on Tuesday, describing it as significant. He said multilateral frameworks such as the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) and BRICS hold great strategic value for the Islamic Republic of Iran.

This trip will hopefully take place on Friday or Saturday, he added.

Referring to the expansion of the two organizations’ activities in recent years in various economic and trade sectors, Baqaei said Iran should make use of these opportunities both to hold bilateral consultations with the member states of the two blocs and to explain its positions.
