Iran’s culture minister arrives in India for BRICS tourism summit

Minister of Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Handicrafts Reza Salehi Amiri has arrived in Jaipur, India, to attend the BRICS Tourism Summit 2026.

Salehi Amiri arrived in Jaipur, India, on Thursday to attend the BRICS Tourism Summit 2026.

Upon arrival, he said BRICS, which covers a significant share of the world’s population and includes major members such as China, India, Russia and Iran, has become one of the key emerging centers of power in the international arena.

Salehi Amiri added that a serious bilateral meeting with India’s minister of culture and tourism will also be held on the sidelines of the summit, expressing hope that these meetings will lead to practical and tangible outcomes for expanding Iran’s tourism cooperation with BRICS members.

He noted that the Ministry of Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Handicrafts has accordingly placed strategic focus on BRICS capacities and is seeking to make full use of this opportunity to expand Iran’s tourism, cultural and international cooperation.

BRICS is a cooperation framework among major emerging economies focused on economic, political and development issues.

Under India’s 2026 presidency, the BRICS tourism meetings are being held in Jaipur from 19 to 22 August 2026.
