Mohammad Bagher Zolghadr, Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, said in a message that the Strait of Hormuz would not be reopened until the US corrects its behavior, and outlined Iran’s six demands for changing this situation. These include ending threats and aggression, lifting the maritime blockade and withdrawing US military forces from around Iran, paying war damages, lifting sanctions and releasing Iran’s assets.

The full text of the message is as follows:

The Strait of Hormuz will not be reopened until the US corrects its conduct. Correcting its conduct means:

Never threatening Iran, under any circumstances or in any language, and refraining from insulting the sacred beliefs of the Iranian nation.
Permanently ending the war and aggression against Iran and Iran’s allies in Lebanon, Palestine, Yemen and Iraq.
Lifting the maritime blockade and withdrawing its military forces (naval and air forces) from around Iran.
Fully compensating Iran for the damages caused by the two wars of aggression imposed on it, without any reduction.
Lifting the unjust and illegal sanctions imposed against the Iranian people.
Unconditionally releasing the frozen and seized assets of the Iranian people.

These demands belong to the Iranian people, who have expressed them loudly during 160 days of unwavering presence in the field and on the streets. The Supreme National Security Council will never back down, whether in war or in negotiations.
