According to the Industry Ministry, the six senior Pakistani officials voiced their government’s firm commitment to strengthening comprehensive cooperation with Iran.

The Pakistani ministers included Federal Minister for Commerce Jam Kamal Khan, Minister for Communications Abdul Aleem Khan, Minister for National Food Security and Research Rana Tanveer Hussain, Minister for Maritime Affairs Muhammad Junaid Anwar Chaudhry, Minister for Petroleum and Natural Resources Ali Pervaiz Malik, and Minister for Investment Qaiser Ahmed Sheikh.

Atabak thanked the Pakistani ministers for their visit, saying, “The Islamic Republic of Iran, with a view to long-term horizons, welcomes all the proposals put forward by the esteemed Pakistani ministers and announces its readiness to draw up an executive roadmap in the shortest possible time.”

The Iranian minister arrived in Islamabad on August 3 at the head of a high-level economic delegation to attend the 10th meeting of the Iran-Pakistan Joint Trade Committee and hold talks with Pakistan’s prime minister.

The August 4-5 visit focuses on expanding economic, trade and industrial cooperation.

The agenda includes finalizing a free trade agreement, establishing a commodity barter mechanism, addressing transit obstacles, facilitating the movement of Iranian containers through Pakistani ports, improving border infrastructure, and advancing rail and maritime connectivity between Chabahar, Gwadar and the Rimdan-Gabd border crossing.
