The final was a rematch of both the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games final and the 2022 World Championship final. Iran overcame Bosnia 25-21, 25-20, 20-25, 25-16 to extend its dominance in the sport.
Iran's men's sitting volleyball team now boasts eight Paralympic gold medals, while Bosnia and Herzegovina has won two Paralympic titles.
By reaching the final, both Iran and Bosnia secured qualification for the Los Angeles 2028 Paralympic Games.
Iran's squad for the tournament comprised Meysam Haj Babaei, Sadegh Bigdeli, Hamidreza Abbasi, Mehdi Babadi, Ali Akbari, Davoud Alipourian, Hossein Golestani, Masoud Emami, Mohammad Nemati, Jamal Nazari, Meysam Alipour, and Morteza Mehrzad.
Coached by Hadi Rezaei, Iran took control of the match by winning the opening two sets before Bosnia responded in the third. Iran sealed the title with a commanding performance in the fourth set to prevail in one of the sport's classic rivalries.
The victory marked Iran's ninth world title, adding to a World Championship record that now includes nine gold medals, two silver medals, and one bronze medal.
Iran had also defeated Bosnia 3-1 during the group stage.
Throughout the 2025 Hangzhou World Championships, Iran dropped only three sets in seven matches. The team conceded one set against Poland in the opening match and one set each in its two meetings with Bosnia, including the final.
