Nournews: Mohammad Asghari, a meteorologist, outlined the latest weather conditions across the country, stating that updated meteorological models indicate that most provinces are now entering the hottest period of the year.
He added that travelers planning trips this week and seeking cooler destinations can find more favorable options in different provinces. In East Azarbaijan Province, Varzaqan and Kaleybar are among the recommended destinations. In Ardabil and Gilan provinces, Gilandeh and Shadmehr offer relatively cooler conditions. In Mazandaran Province, Baladeh and Delir are expected to provide milder weather, while Abbar and Chavarzaq in Zanjan Province are also among the cooler locations.
Asghari noted that, alongside the persistent heatwave, the seasonal 120-day winds will intensify across eastern Iran. As a result, parts of South Khorasan Province—including Tabas, Sarbisheh, Sarayan, Eshqabad, Boshruyeh, and Nahbandan—could experience conditions capable of damaging urban infrastructure and facilities outside city limits.
He further warned that in southern South Khorasan and northern Sistan and Baluchestan provinces, people with respiratory illnesses, older adults, and children should avoid outdoor activities during periods of poor air quality. If going outside is unavoidable, they are advised to wear protective face masks.
Asghari concluded by saying that, for the first time in the Iranian year 1405, Tehran's maximum temperature is expected to reach between 41°C and 42°C today. He added that if temperatures in Qom climb to 46°C, it would not be considered unexpected.
