Foreign dignitaries to begin arriving in Iran on Friday for martyred Leader’s funeral: VP

First Vice President Mohammad Reza Aref has announced that foreign officials and delegations will begin arriving in Iran on Friday to participate in the farewell and funeral ceremonies for the martyred Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei.

Speaking at a cabinet meeting, which he chaired, Aref said comprehensive planning has been undertaken to receive guests, facilitate their participation in the ceremonies, and arrange bilateral meetings with Iranian officials.

“From Friday, dear guests from various countries will enter the country to attend this ceremony,” Aref said. “Proper planning has been arranged for welcoming these guests, their participation in the ceremonies, and bilateral meetings with our country's officials.”

The public farewell ceremonies for Ayatollah Khamenei will begin on July 4 at Imam Khomeini Grand Mosalla, followed by funeral processions in Tehran on July 6 and in Qom on July 7, respectively. The late Leader will be laid to rest on July 9 at the Imam Reza Shrine in Mashhad.

Ayatollah Khamenei and several members of his household were martyred in a terrorist US-Israeli strike targeting his residence in Tehran on February 28, the first day of the joint war of aggression launched by American and Israeli regimes against Iran.
