Nournews: On Wednesday, June 24, Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei reacted to what he described as the repetitive and interventionist remarks of the U.S. Secretary of State against the Islamic Republic of Iran and the resistance movements in Lebanon and occupied Palestine.

Writing on X, Baghaei stated:

“No one will be fooled by such statements. Genuine peace in our region will remain unattainable as long as U.S. militarism and interventionism continue, and as long as its occupying proxy enjoys complete impunity while imposing endless wars on the region and committing genocide and other heinous crimes.”

On Tuesday, upon arriving in the United Arab Emirates, U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio told reporters that negotiations concerning Lebanon should be viewed separately from talks with Iran, claiming:

“The issue of Lebanon is separate from Iran because Lebanon is an independent country.”

Rubio also asserted that concerns regarding Iran’s missile program and its support for allied regional groups—issues that he described as important to countries in the region—would certainly be raised during these discussions.
