On Tuesday, the two officials exchanged views on regional developments and ongoing initiatives to promote stability and de-escalation, according to Iran’s Foreign Ministry.

The United States and the Israeli regime launched a military aggression against Iran, which began on February 28, 2026. The conflict lasted 40 days and was halted following a Pakistan-mediated ceasefire on April 7. However, the US later violated the ceasefire and attacked vessels affiliated with Iran after Washington imposed a blockade in the Strait of Hormuz.
