Pezeshkian made the remarks in a message on Friday to the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council meeting, describing the past year as a fruitful period in the development of trade interactions with the member states of the EAEU.

He also said that with trade capacities are beyond the current volume, adding that materializing this potential requires creation of new financial infrastructures, including national currency exchange mechanisms and independence in payment systems.

Pezeshkian emphasized that while confronting unjust sanctions and external threats, Iran has always maintained its commitment to strengthening the union and creating a powerful region based on national sovereignty and energy security through participation in summit and council meetings.

While urging regional partners to turn this solidarity into a common growth, he said that the future belongs to nations that pave the way for progress and welfare through mutual trust and synergy.

Regarding the negotiations between Tehran and Washington, he said that while diplomatic negotiations were underway, the United States betrayed the negotiation table by attacking Iran and targeted vital infrastructure, which is a violation of international law and disrupts the region’s economy.
