The Iranian team left for Antalya, Turkey, on Monday morning with 22 players and coaching staff members to play their final friendly match before departing for the United States to participate in the 2026 World Cup.
Elaborating on the Iranian team’s preparation before their departure for the training camp in Turkey, the head coach of the Iranian football team, Amir Ghalenoei said: "We are adorned with the name Minab 168.”
Earlier on Sunday, FIFA Secretary-General Mattias Grafström had said the organization is looking forward to Iran’s participation in the 2026 World Cup following a meeting between representatives of the Iranian Football Federation and the global governing body, which he described as positive and constructive.
Iran has qualified for the World Cup for the fourth consecutive time. The national team is scheduled to face New Zealand, Belgium, and Egypt next month in the United States, while its training camp has been planned in Tucson, in the US state of Arizona.
