Minab school massacre is global symbol of condemnation against Israeli crimes on children: Iranian minister

Iran’s Education Minister Alireza Kazemi says the bombing of the Shajareh Tayyebeh primary school in the city of Minab has become a global symbol of condemnation against Israel’s crimes targeting children.

Kazemi made the remarks on Monday in Tehran during a meeting with officials from Kevser Organization for Humanity Relief and Development, an NGO based in Istanbul.

Kazemi thanked the Turkish government and people for expressing solidarity with Iran following the Minab massacre and announced the signing of an agreement by the Kevser Organization to build a school named after the martyrs of Shajareh Tayyebeh school.

He described the initiative as a manifestation of unity within the Islamic Ummah and a model of solidarity for the Muslim world and the international community.

Referring to the bombing of the school and the killing of its students, the minister said the incident symbolizes the oppression suffered by the Iranian nation, adding that the issue should remain alive in international media and political discourse alongside the Palestinian cause.

Kazemi also said the Education Ministry has established a national headquarters to oversee cultural, media, and memorial programs related to the Minab massacre. He added that the current school building will be preserved as a wartime site and turned into a national memorial and museum documenting crimes against humanity committed by the child-killing enemy.

Shajareh Tayyebeh primary school was bombed on February 28, the first day of the US-Israeli war of aggression on Iran. A total of 156 people, including 120 students, were killed in the airstrike.
