Who Stands Behind the Project to Eliminate Bahrain’s Shia?

NOURNEWS – The intensification of arrests, revocations of citizenship, and suppression of Bahrain’s Shia majority, backed by the US and the Zionist regime, has once again exposed the West’s double standards and the silence of so-called human rights institutions.

In recent days, the rulers of the small island nation of Bahrain have escalated a wave of arrests, citizenship revocations, and crackdowns against Shia Muslims, who make up the majority of the population. Several religious scholars have been detained, and dozens of others have been stripped of their nationality. These actions, accompanied by baseless accusations against Iran, come at a time when, on one hand, a global wave of awakening against the US and the Zionist regime, along with acknowledgment of the righteousness of resistance, has become undeniable, and on the other hand, the silence of human rights claimants and international bodies has once again laid bare the hypocrisy of their double standards.

Baseless Claims Against Iran and On-the-Ground Realities

To justify their actions, Bahrain’s rulers have leveled unfounded accusations against Iran, even though the Islamic Republic of Iran has consistently emphasized the principle of good neighborliness with regional countries. Indeed, despite Bahrain having become part of the US‑Zionist military aggression infrastructure against Iran, the Islamic Republic, based on humanitarian considerations, neighborly ties, and concern for the welfare of the people of that land, only targeted the interests, bases, and assets of the hostile enemy.

What is unfolding in Bahrain today stems, on the one hand, from the suppressed demands of the February 14, 2011 uprising (the Pearl Roundabout uprising)—demands that were never realized and have now resurfaced like an old wound. On the other hand, opposition to US‑Zionist warmongering and support for Iran have become a global phenomenon, with popular protests against the aggressors taking place even in the heart of Europe and America. Thus, popular movements in an Islamic country protesting US‑Zionist crimes are natural, arising from humanitarian spirit and Islamic duty—and attributing them to Iran is a baseless and invalid claim.

Awakening of Nations and Failure of Regional Dependency Project

The essential point is that by standing firm against the US, Iran has taught the nations of the world, especially those under the domination and pressure of Washington’s policies, lessons in resistance and independence. Today, even in Europe, countries like Spain openly take positions against the policies of the US and the Zionist regime. Under these circumstances, the Bahraini people’s inclination toward genuine independence, an end to US domination, and disengagement from ties with the Zionist regime is natural and reflects their just demands, a voice that increasingly exposes the falsity of Manama’s accusations against Iran and the Axis of Resistance.

Through repression and baseless accusations against Iran, Bahrain’s leaders can neither conceal their extensive cooperation with US‑Zionist aggressors against regional security, nor can they, by delusions and playing into their hands, gain legitimacy for false pretexts against Iran at the UN Security Council. The world’s public opinion no longer accepts such deception, and Bahrain’s rulers, as participants in US‑Zionist crimes, face global accountability.

US‑Zionist Brand of Religious Cleansing

The Bahraini regime’s conduct in recent years, especially since 2011, shows that its rulers, emulating US‑Zionist policies, have pursued an organized project of ethnic and religious cleansing aimed at eliminating the Shia majority and altering the demographic fabric through engineered migration.

The presence of Zionist torturers and spies, along with the use of US‑British tools of repression and torture against the Bahraini people, is proven and evident. It appears that Bahrain’s leaders, who have played a key role in US‑Zionist engineered crises in the region, are exploiting the region’s inflamed atmosphere to intensify repression and ethnic‑religious cleansing, the very process the Zionist regime is simultaneously carrying out in occupied Palestine. The Americans, who themselves have a dark history of cleansing Native Americans, today support and promote such policies in both regimes.

West’s Silence: Direct Complicity in Bahrain’s Repression

The repressions and ethnic‑religious cleansing policies in Bahrain have once again exposed the hypocrisy of human rights claimants and international institutions. The very governments and currents that raise an outcry over the smallest issues in Iran and some other countries, invoking the defense of humanity and the right to life, even speaking of sanctions and military options under the pretext of protecting people, remain silent in the face of repression, discrimination, and religious cleansing in Bahrain, effectively becoming partners in these actions.

The developments in Bahrain have once again revealed the emptiness of Western human rights claims and the inefficacy and politicization of international bodies, a trend that underscores the urgent need to rethink global structures and move toward a new, just, multilateral order independent of great‑power domination.

Developments like those unfolding today in Bahrain further clarify the righteousness of Iran’s positions regarding the necessity of US withdrawal from the region and confrontation with the Zionist regime, a goal whose realization hinges on Iran’s smart management of the Strait of Hormuz and articulation of a new regional order.
