Ghalibaf issued the warning just hours after US President Donald Trump's rhetoric that Iranian power plants will be destroyed across the country if the Islamic Republic does not unblock the Strait of Hormuz within 48 hours.
“Immediately after targeting the power plants and infrastructure of our country, vital infrastructure and energy and oil facilities throughout the region will be regarded as legitimate targets and destroyed,” he said in a post on his official X account on Sunday.
The top parliament also warned that global oil prices will remain higher for a long period of time if the US military commits any mischief against Iran's critical infrastructures.
On Wednesday, US-Israeli airstrikes hit parts of South Pars Gas Field in southern Iran on the 19th day of the war of aggression launched by the two regimes.
Attacks prompted the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) to retaliate by targeting oil facilities associated with the United States in the region.
