Araghchi referred to the martyrdom of tens of Iranian navy forces by the U.S. and said they were trained marine forces who had gone there at the invitation of the Indian Navy Forces to participate in an exercise. As guests of India, they were unarmed and on their way to return home when they were attacked. An attack on a training, unarmed ship full of navy forces is a war crime.
He said it was a peaceful parade. They had gone there before the war. Araghchi said that unfortunately, the U.S. has created a history of acting against international law, which has distorted the whole body of international maritime law.
Araghchi said that after six days of war, the U.S. is yet to achieve its main goal, meaning a fast and full victory. They are trying to justify their attack, but they lacked any effective reason, and now they are talking about a plan B, which will bring about a much bigger failure.
“Their objective was overthrowing Iran’s government and announcing a fast victory, but they failed. The system is working effectively. The commanders have been replaced. We have been targeted, but we were also able to target Israel and U.S. bases. Our missiles are still active and precise. We have been able to resist.”
Araghchi noted that we have never attacked our neighboring countries. We have not targeted Muslim countries. Our only targets are the U.S. bases and assets in the region.
“Foreign ministers of these countries have been in contact with us, and I have explained that we do not target you.”
We attacked wherever the Americans were settled. Maybe there were some collateral losses, just things that happen in any war. More than 70,000 were killed in Gaza by Israel, and the Zionist regime army called it “collateral losses.”
